Does Five Guys use their own blackened seasoning recipe?
No, they don’t, is the short answer. In fact Five Guys burgers and fries doesn’t use any blackening seasoning recipe (say that five times, fast!) at all. What they use is in fact a Cajun spice mixture that can be purchased in nearly any local supermarket in the contiguous USA.
This Cajun spice is used to add the flavor to the Five Guys Cajun fries that everybody loves so much, including yours truly. In fact, if I’m gonna go ahead and subject my body to the 620 calories (260 calories from fat) that comes with a ‘regular’ sized fry, then I’m gonna make damn sure that there is some Cajun seasoning on dem fries…!
